This class is for children aged 5 – 8 years old and introduces to them what meditation is, ways they can bring mindfulness into their lives and learning about their emotions through games, mindful movement, arts and crafts and breathing activities. The classes are fun and exploratory, using different activities to help process thoughts and emotions in a way that appeals to them at this age. Each week has a theme and an intention to carry us through the class with focus. Throughout the term, children will learn activities that will help them to: • Recognise and acknowledge when different emotions arise • How to manage difficult emotions such as anxiety, overwhelm and anger • Empower themselves to deal with life’s challenges • Become more emotionally resilient • Create a more positive mindset The aim for these classes is to leave children feeling grounded, emotionally stable, and resilient. Bringing mindfulness into their daily lives will benefit their focus and concentration, sleep, mood, and mindset. The Tree Room is a beautiful and tranquil space in the heart of Colchester’s town centre; giving parents time to enjoy a coffee or do some shopping whilst your little ones learn meditation, find their inner peace, and enjoy making new friends. All equipment is provided but bringing your own water bottle is recommended.
